a decorator's opinion on my nursery please?
Hello! well my hubby and I bought a dark cherry colored crib at a good price, but I like espresso or black alot better.
Before we buy the bookshelf, dresser, and rocking chair I'm wondering if we should find stuff in cherry to match, and stain it all a darker color, or leave it the way it is (some things aren't always available in cherry either) or buy the rest of the stuff in an espresso color and then just stain the crib...
can storkcraft cribs be stained and is it healthy for the baby?
and WHAT colors go good with cherry?

Avoid refinishing the crib because there are toxicity issues at hand there.
Don't do the matchy-matchy thing... Have some pieces in a similar tone (either lighter cherry or a dark, non-cherry color) and have others simply painted in complementary colors to the room. I have a dresser in my son's room painted the color of the walls to camouflage it in the small room (it takes up less visual space).
