Is my baby boy teething at 3 months?
My baby boy is 12 weeks old (almost 3 months, depending which way you count it) The last 2 days he has seemed a little unhappy. We have always been very lucky as he doesnt usually cry, however today he hasnt stopped!
He is dribbling a lot! And seems to constantly be hungry but for some reason, pulls away and cries when I try to breastfeed him?
He is refusing to suck on his soother but keeps chewing on his hands instead. And when i put my finger in his mouth he bites really hard.
What are the chances of this being teething at such an early stage, is it really uncommon? Are there other signs? I have just given him some baby medicine and it seems to have helped.
Just to add, the weather is very warm at the moment (I have got all windows open and a fan on) Could it just be down to the hot weather?
When they start to drool, then teething has most likely begun. My daughter is 3 months (by date, not weeks) and she has been chewing on her fists for about a month now. I can see tiny white bumps on her lower gumline, and she like to clamp down hard on my fingers too! I expect teeth with in the next 2-3 months. My son, when he was teething wasn't much a of a self soother so I was his teether and he comfort nursed a ton! He got his first two teeth a day apart at 5.5months. Teething will be rough as they start to come in. Take it one day at a time and don't OD on the baby Tylenol. Try cool cloths, and teething rings first. Oh and they have teething tablets out there at places like Walmart, Rite Aid and the like that claim to help. I have never tried them though so I can say if they work.
