Safe Baby Handling Tips. Funny Much?

What would you think if you were working in a store and a customer tried to leave her baby with you?

This is a very small gift store that has some clothes but people have to use the washroom to try things on, which is way in the back. She just walked away and then casually said, "oh I'm leaving my baby there". I was totally shocked, especially when there's all kinds of strangers around, and it's busy, and there's no way I could make sure someone didn't snatch this baby while I had so many customers to serve, by myself. I told her I couldn't watch the baby and she should take him with her. I think my voice sounded a bit clipped but she didn't react like I was rude to her. Then, another customer asked me if I had a lot of paperwork, then told me I was ignorant for not watching the baby! I was so shocked, I didn't argue with her because she seemed crazy and definitely stoned. The funny thing was, my feelings were hurt. I wonder if that's a normal reaction to such crazy people.

i think that's a normal reaction. you were put into a very strange situation, and not one that you chose to be in. you'll encounter many more crazy things in your life, just be happy that the baby didn't get stolen.
