Any advice on making homemade baby food?
What fruits and veggies are easy to make? What is the best way to prepare them? What kind of containers can they be stored in?
We made most of my son's baby food and just started making food for our 5 month old daughter.
We didn't bother with freezing anything, we would just grind up fresh veggies and fruits in a regular blender and store it in a Tupperware container in the fridge. The doctors recommend trying one food for several days before introducing new, so we would just make enough for 3-4 days, and make new when we ran out. The time that they need to eat purees goes by so fast, before you know it they will have teeth and will be eating table food.
We started on green beans, then moved to carrots, squash and sweet potatoes. Next we introduced fruits like banana, apple, pears and peaches.
As my son got older we made the food lumpier so he could adjust to the thicker textures.
