Is it okay to use the q-tips made by johnson and johnson on my 4mth. old?
I have a 4 month old baby and she always has wax on the outer part of her ear and I can see that she has some inside too. I have read not to use q-tips in the inner part. I have q-tips made by johnson and johnson that have a little bump and then a huge bump of cotton so they don't go very far in the ear but i am afraid to use them on her. But, the wax is quite a bit and i would like to get it out. Is it okay to use them? Also, what type of solution can i use to get it all off because it doesn't really come off with just my finger?
Johnson's makes safety swabs made for young children. I always used these with my children. At four months old I never cleaned them this way. I used a damp wash cloth instead. I was always scared to put a q tip in their ears. It can be dangerous. You need to be very careful not to go too deep. You could damage babies ear and she could have hearing problems for the rest of her life. This is very serious.
